Have you successfully completed a fellowship in the area in which you would like to specialize? Have you also earned initial certification in internal medicine and hold a state medical license in good standing with no restrictions?

If so, you are eligible to join ABIM in its mission to enhance the quality of health care by demonstrating you have the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential for excellent patient care.

Certification encompasses the six general competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and sets the stage for continual professional development through values centered on lifelong learning.
