Get Your Internal Medicine Exam Results

Your exam results will take about three months to be released. While you may be worried as you wait for your results, there’s good news: the majority of physicians pass the exam on their first attempt (pdf).

  • Results are released within three months of the last date of the exam in that area.
  • When results are released, you will receive an email that will direct you to sign in to your Physician Portal to view your score report.

Once you receive your score report, it’s a good idea to review the areas in which your scores were lower than others, as that can help you decide where to focus your learning activities in the future. Learn how to understand your score report (pdf).

Questions regarding exam results should be submitted in writing within six months of the date that results were released.

If you were not successful on your exam, please review ABIM's Board Eligibility policy to confirm when you'll be able to take your next certification exam.
